Fragments of a creative life

A story

I saw you in the subway, low angle view, looking ahead.
You're moving into the future. Your presence defined, your posture composed, steady gaze, there is natural confidence in the way you stand... your expression carries a quiet determination.

Where do you go ?

I spent quite some time with Elektron machines, learning ins and outs. Once i decided to go minimal, in the never ending ongoing process of reducing friction and maximizing productivity, i resampled a lot of material i created with these machines to eventually
use it even after having sold the machine.
Signal is a short scifi inspired piece which made use of this material.

Clone - A failed idea

I composed this track while working on a personal concept art piece inspired by a story I had in mind about a human cloning facility hidden inside a cave.

I composed this track while working on a personal concept art piece inspired by a story I had in mind about a human cloning facility hidden inside a cave. Not a particularly original idea, and I wasn't especially pleased with the final result, particularly the design of the machine, which was the main focus of the piece. It felt bulky and lacked elegance, and I eventually removed the artwork from my portfolio.

It was, however, a good excuse to compose this short piece of music.

Veil of fog

Arriving on Île de Bréhat by ferry felt like being in a movie, literally.

Low banks of fog slowly revealed the coastline in all its beauty and mystery. It felt like arriving in a different world. I chose to photograph the island in black and white to better capture that mood and atmosphere.

Low banks of fog slowly revealed the coastline in all its beauty and mystery. It felt like arriving in a different world. I chose to photograph the island in black and white to better capture that mood and atmosphere.

The natural landscape, with its giant, almost otherworldly rock formations, contributed to creating a moment I will never forget. The silence, the solitude, and the majesty of nature were all wrapped in a beautiful yet mysterious veil of fog.

For a few hours, everything seemed suspended in time.

Mistero - 2 chords

A few chords and a simple arrangement to convey Mistery. I probably wrote this for another making of videos from my portfolio.

Rise

I do not particularly like you,
but in those moments.. you do shine.Beautiful old corners bathed in sunset light, night-time shopfronts glowing softly in the dark

Gen V - score

A few years ago i worked on a The Boys spin-off tv show called GenV. For that show i designer a character called Golden Boy.
As i’m used to doing i eventually prepared a making of with a few phases of the design process. I composed this little piece of electronic music right for it.

On the train - Life as it passes

The simplicity and minimalism of certain compositions, the quiet power of a red filter placed in front of a lens.

People often laugh when I say I enjoy traveling by train. We live in a culture of the NOW (or even YESTERDAY), where everything is compressed and accelerated, and we are slowly unlearning how to experience time itself.
For me, trains do the opposite. They restore a sense of distance and duration. They create a space where I can simply look out of the window and let thoughts drift, where observation becomes a natural form of reflection and, inevitably, a source of work.

Of course, this is usually accompanied by a good (bad), absurdly expensive coffee kindly not sponsored by the onboard bar.

Beyond that, trains are also an extraordinary study of human behaviour: postures, rhythms, clothing, micro-gestures, even the poetry of people trying (and failing) to sleep comfortably. A moving laboratory for quick gesture drawing and for quietly observing
life as it passes.

Elena - a few shots

I do not generally do portraits but sometimes, with the right subject, it’s good to stop, look, think and enjoy the beauty of light and people.

Good memories of my years in New York, and what this beautiful city brought and represented in my life.
