A Man - story of music
A few frames from a film set.
as usual my camera was with me, so I tried to capture quieter moments,
actors getting ready, details of the set, fragments of the day,
almost like a colorful storyboard… a story within the story

My Streets

Rain - field notes
05:18
La Défense, Paris
05:18
La Défense, Paris
Low clouds.
Light rain.
Almost no people.
The city sleeps.
Few silhouettes, umbrellas.
Silence.
As concept artists, we spend countless hours trying to invent believable atmospheres.
Sometimes reality does all the work for us.
An unusually early morning, low clouds hiding the tops of the towers,
light rain and an empty financial district transformed La Défense into something that felt strangely cinematic.
La stanza vuota
Some places never forget.
Some places never forget.
The objects remain, marks of your hands.
The silence remains.
That silence still speak of you.
The Empty Room
A moveable feast
“If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you…”
Ernest Hemingway

I travelled widely in my younger years, living in different cities, each leaving their own trace. Later, more mature, I arrived in Paris.
It didn’t feel like a beginning. More like a place where everything I had lived before could finally converge.
The city works for me as a container for memory and experience, quietly stirring them, letting them collide and evolve.
From that mixture, something beautiful sometimes emerges.
Whitechapel - ambient pill
Short track i composed to accompany a making of video of a personal concept art piece about Jack the Ripper and my love for this mystery and for Victorian Era London. Tried to capture the mood of the place while imagining what it could feel like to wander those poorly illuminated and filthy streets, how could this not be a playground for a serial killer !?

Structures - ambient
Skyscrapers vanish into the clouds as colossal ships glide between them. Below lies nothing but an endless ocean, the surface of a forgotten world. A glimpse into the future, an imagined civilization where architecture reaches beyond the sky.

Structures.
This is the idea behind the writing of this piece of ambient music which accompanied one of my illustrations.

Fog
For me, fog feeds the imagination. It refuses to reveal the landscape all at once, asking you to trust that what has disappeared from view is still there.
For me, fog feeds the imagination. It refuses to reveal the landscape all at once, asking you to trust that what has disappeared from view is still there.
In a way, if you think about it, fog doesn't add anything to the world, it takes things away.
And, much like the finest paintings, it is through that absence that what truly matters begins to emerge…
Veils of Istanbul
Beautiful old corners bathed in sunset light, night-time shopfronts glowing softly in the dark
There is a very interesting concept called hüzün, introduced by Orhan Pamuk in his beautiful book Istanbul: Memories and the City.
It is not easy to translate, but it can be described as a kind of shared melancholy, almost a poetic sadness that seems to permeate the very walls of Istanbul.
I think it takes living there for a long time, and perhaps also the sensitivity of a master like Pamuk, to truly understand it, and probably feel it.
I cannot say I do. But during my visit there was definitely something special: an atmosphere, an energy that I still remember clearly, beautiful old corners bathed in sunset light, night-time shopfronts glowing softly in the dark… i do still miss it just by writing about it
This mood surrounded the city’s beautiful, timeworn architecture, buildings that have witnessed centuries of change and history.
I just love Istanbul.
Form A - score
Form A, shortfilm score
A track i composed scoring an abstract shortfilm for which i shot a lot of macro photography and i’m actually revisiting right now to see if i can “upgrade” it.
Music wise i wanted something slow and contemplative, but also mysterious, which is generally what i like in music.

True North
Glimpses of Canada's breathtaking wilderness, where black and white transforms the landscape into something timeless.
I still vividly remember a long walk along an old trail with my other half.

I still vividly remember a long walk along an old trail with my other half.
Surrounded by the silence of those vast landscapes, we followed abandoned railway tracks as a gentle rain began to fall.
The atmosphere was impossible to recreate, something quietly magical,
revealed only to those willing to slow down, to truly see, and to deeply feel.
Sic Parvis Magna
The original score of a simple abstract short film i created a few years back, will probably re work and expand this music idea while i go back and refine the short itself. We’re never satisfied of our work, and this is a blessing and a curse.

Storm
From “ The Soul’s Storm “ by Emily Dickinson
It struck me every day
The lightning was as new
As if the cloud that instant slit
And let the fire through.
I thought that storm was brief,
The maddest, quickest by;
But Nature lost the date of this,
And left it in the sky
From “ The Soul’s Storm “ by Emily Dickinson

It’s not the style i prefer to compose but i have beautiful memories of my young age dancing nights, my love for clubbing faded with age obviously but i still love listening to some good dance music.
This is just a fun weekend exercise to create some beats and go back in time

Snow
Photography often means patience and a willingness to do things most people wouldn’t, simply to witness something, to capture a fleeting moment or a feeling.
Photography often means patience and a willingness to do things most people wouldn’t, simply to be a witness, to capture a fleeting moment or a feeling.
That is one of the aspects of photography I love most. We are surrounded by beautiful moments every day, yet we rarely take the time to stop and truly look, to really see right ?
Sometimes it means waking up at 5 a.m. and heading into a snowstorm just to photograph a pristine white blanket, untouched by human footprints.. or noticing a baker hard at work before dawn, his small workspace the only place illuminated while the city sleeps around him.
This is the good stuff.
A story
I saw you in the subway, low angle view, looking ahead.
You're moving into the future. Your presence defined, your posture composed, steady gaze, there is natural confidence in the way you stand... your expression carries a quiet determination.

I spent quite some time with Elektron machines, learning ins and outs. Once i decided to go minimal, in the never ending ongoing process of reducing friction and maximizing productivity, i resampled a lot of material i created with these machines to eventually
use it even after having sold the machine.
Signal is a short scifi inspired piece which made use of this material.
